Hi Ralph. My dad "Bill Shuler" was in Battery D 119th AAA gun battalion {mobile}. Or Dog battery for short. Growing up I knew he had been in the war but never new any details.Few years back when D-day had it's 50th I started asking him some questions.Found out he landed on Utah beach D-day +30. Was part of Pattons group raceing across France. Spent a very rough Christmas along with a lot of other guys during the battle of the bulge. He has a shoe box full of photos standing on knocked out Nazi tanks and downed planes. He has done a good job of insulating his family from the things that went on over there. When I ask him any details he just stares off for a while then politely changes the subject. All the sights and stories he has will go to the grave with him some day. I sure am thankful for him and all the brave men that did no less than save the world.
