We are replacing the TA in our 3288 with the mechanical diode type right now. The mechanic doing the work recommended that type over the standard TA as did both CIH dealers that I priced the unit with. Price for the TA unit only was $838 with core exchange. It's a little discouraging to read some of these posts saying the diode type TA won't hold up after I've already bought one. I guess time will tell.
