RE: Replacing the clutch. You will have to pull the front end when you do a complete overhaul. By the time you get to this point you are already over half way there to replacing the clutch. I would sure go ahead and pull the block and at least check out the clutch disc, pressure plate and the through out bearing, since you are almost there anyway.
