David,dropping the pan will probably show you nothing.The heat from your engine causes the crack to open,therefore acool block normally wont leak.I dont recommend using the "stop leaks" but if you do as I have out of need I suggest the aluminum particle form.I dont remember the name but NAPA & Advance carry it.The only thing Barrs Leak ever did for me was plug the radiator cores.Hope this helps.
