The temp. guage probably works. The tractor probaly just didn't warm up enough to register on the guage. The other guages most likely don't work. I think it's just something about that style of guages. the only ones that work on our 966 are the temp. and oil pressure. I just started to replace the guages on my 240, and it isn't cheap. We've had this 966 (which is basicly a 1066 without a turbo) for about ten years, and the only problem has been the injector pump having to be rebuilt. Here's a little advice, make sure that 1066 has the add-on coolant filter, and if you buy it, change the filter often. If you don't, the coolant can eat right through the cylinder sleeves. this is a problem in all wet-sleaved diesles, not just IH's.
