on the narrow fronts, there are 4 bolts that hold the front lower casting on. one has a raised "crown top" the top is the stop for the steering to keep the front end from spinning all the way around. could be that bolt is in the wrong spot. did you have the bolster apart? bottom bolster bearing could be bad too.
