Book probably says 30W non-detergent, correct? Go ahead and use a multi-viscosity detergent oil, it's not going to hurt a fresh engine at all. Now if you have an old engine that hasn't been touched, stay with the non-detergent oils or you will start loosening up crud in the engine that has been building up for 60+ years.

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
