Hi, I had a message a while back about not being able to shift a 1066 into gear. Turns out there are some slots inside the lever area that need to line up to shift. For some reason they get misaligned and it is a royal pain to get them lined up right to shift gears. Usually I have to shut down since I can't get to neutral and work on it a while. Well after doing this for a bit, the tractor decided not to start then. The guages show electricity but when I push the start button they blank out like there is a short or a power draw. Could this just be low battery or would this be a starter or something like that? Can I jump it with a 12 volt starter if it is battery? I am assuming it is a 24 volt system but I don't have a 24 volt charger nor do I know if they make such a beast. Does anyone know with this gear thing if there is a way to keep this from happening? Some adjustment or tightening somewhere or part replaced to keep it shifting smooth? Thanks! -Tim

The answer to our needs materialized in the form of a '44 Farmall A, complete with cultivators, discs, single plow, a 5ft.Woods belly mower and one, mounted spare 9.00x24 rear wheel.
