Yes there were some old time conversions to Cummings engine. Can remember some MD and 400 or 450 that I viewed. Think it was the Red Power Roundup in Hookstown PA. that a 450 was displayed with cummings,maybe 400?. Paperwork was on display with tractor that showed some farm ordered several chassis less engine from IH and then sent tractors to Cummings or other company to have the diesels installed. Its a long while ago so someone help me out with memory or details. Gas IH tractors were changed to diesel power also. Don't think IH company ever offered any cummings kits.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
