Stepped head pistons in a early M?

Question guys :)

My two M's have flat top pistons which make them of course regular M's.

Right now I know I will be changing the sleeves out and "maybe" one piston. If I do happen to find more bad pistons then if possible I'd like to get the higher compression and bring the engine to Super M specs IF that is all that has to be done.

Do I need to change the cam and carburetion for this????
