The prongs could be 3 point-to-fast hitch adapters that slip over the 3 point pins on the plow.

Disconnect the tractor from the plow. Now look at the prongs.

Are they held on to the plow by a single large bolt or pin? If you can pull the prongs off the plow by removing one large bolt, or a quick clip, then you do NOT have a fast hitch plow. It is a 3pt hitch plow, and you will need a top link to make it work correctly.
