I was mostly around the older tractors that would have originally had the umbrella type elements. So a lot of the newer tractors could have the spring without me knowing it. I just can't find anything on a Parts Catalog to confirm the spring in anything with that style element. It does show in ones like the 560. As long as the bottom tube stays in the casting, I don't see any harm from it being able to move inside the cannister.
