Bob: To remove the bottom shaft from a Super A transmission the entire rear end has to be split from the rest of the tractor just ahead of transmission, Cut yourself a couple of good wood wedges to wedge in pivot of front axle, that will secure the offset weight of engine. Then remove wheels, followed by final drives and platform. PTO and differential may as well come out first to lighten the transmission case. It would be best to have either IT manual or IH Blue Ribbon Service Manual as there are some crucial settings when you put this all back together.
