If you have a good gasket there should be no gas leak as the vaccum will pull the vaporized mixture to the cycls. Are you sure that the wetness you see isnt condensation as all carbs will get wet in a high humidity condition and if the temp is rite it will show as frost this is normall as carbs have done it since their begining.
