After weeks of delay, the '48 MD is sitting in my barn. The gas side is non functioning, so we pull started it and it fired off after about 20 feet. Runs surprisingly good...no smoke except white right before startup and black smoke under load. I want to change all the fluids, question is what weight should they be? I'm thinking Shell rotella 15-40 for crankcase and injection pump, but what about air cleaner? a lighter weight oil? I'm excited about this tractor especially as it turned out better than I expected. It doesn't quite fit with the rest of my collection (all F Series) but I only had to haul it 7 miles. Any help appreciated on the oil question.
