Excluding some after market units that used
two hydralic clutch packs, all TA units use a
one way clutch on the low (TA) side. The one
way clutch is what transmits the power. There
is a hydraulic cluch pack on the low side used
to prevent free wheeling, but if the one way
clutch fails, it is not capable of pulling under
load.
