The first production series IH tractors that did not freewheel when in the TA position were the 706, 806, and later the 1206. On these tractors, the TA clutching is accomplished hydraulically, and the one way overrunning clutch is unnecessary to prevent the TA housing from rotating in reverse while its internal gears rotate, as I understand it. Someone who has actually torn one down and rebuilt it could probably provide you with more information or correct anything that I said which was inaccurate.
