Whenever the suffix for a part number changed there was a change in the part. It depended on the part but minor changes would result in a suffix change and major changes would cause a new part number to be created. If you notice some parts carry the r1 suffix for the entire life of the part and others update numerous times. The r91 type numbers indicate there are multiple parts and it is some type of assembly. Things have changed alot at CNH but that is how it was done way back when.
