Have seen several that pipe had been welded and none of them held. I do not know anything about welding but I think it is next to impossible to weld or braze the stel pipes to the cast manifld. Worked with man 20 or so years ago that could weld cracked manifolds as good as new though and a lot of good welders can not do that.
