Other than the flat topped pistons in early McCormick products that actually protrude above the block deck, (reciently discovered info on this site) All IH heads will not hit the valves with flat top pistons. I would use fire crater pistond to improve the power. There have been no issues with those into the valves (unless a radically ground cam, or high ratio rockers are used. The valves must be the correct length for the head. Dual fuel, Gasoline/distillate, heads are short valve heads. (I think, but do not know if all others take the same longer valves. Gasoline only heads have compression advantages and should be used if possible. JimN
