Do not fret, these are straight cut sliding gear transmissions. They will grind a little no matter what you do. Ignore it. It is no consequence. The action of the pilot bearing, inertial of the clutch disk, and motion of the tractor cause inevitable minor raking of a few teeth to get it ino gear.
