Its just been a day and all I did was start it to make sure it ran and charged and then turned it off after about 10 minutes.

What I did notice was that with the one wire setup the needle on the Amp guage would always peg past the 20 mark and then drop some but never past about 18 or there bouts.

When I started it yesterday the needle on the guage didnt go over as far and it dropped back to about a 4 amp charge after a few minutes. I guess with the three wire it can tell when the battery needs charging where it couldnt with the one wire?

Main reason I wanted to use the three wire setup is that I just didnt like having to make sure every time that the motor was reved up to excite the alt. Even with a smaller pulley it just never did what I expected it to do. Im pretty picky with that Super A and want it perfect.

Anyway my conclusion is that the one wire setup would have probly worked but I see no reason why someone that is converting for the first time not just go ahead and do it right to begin with. The Alt comes already set up for the three wire and all you really need to do is run one more wire with either a idiot light or diode.
