Repowering a M with a V-8?

While I was working on some fence for a farmer I found an International truck that has what I assume is a 304 V-8 in it. Could I get this engine to fit in an M? I could probally get the engine for free if I asked and there is a Farmall salvage yard near by that I might be able to get a good deal on an M without a motor. Anybody done this or have any ideas. If I built this tractor it would only be for show, but I might pull it a time or two (or be run off because it has a V-8 in it). Can anyone give me some help?
