I've got an M&W parts sheet on their 9-speed package. The unit replaces the constant mesh gears at the very front of the transmission and the input shaft. The new constant mesh gears are narrower because there are 2 of them. The shifter mechanism is on the lower gear. You have to completely dissassemble the transmission because Your replacing the the bottom shaft and the front top shaft ahead of the pilot bearing. The transmission top cover has to be removed. M&W as of about 1983 when I got this parts sheet from them no longer sold the 9-speed kits anymore but did have some parts available, and I understand some are still avail. today.
