As far as the bearings go, the new bearing is probably an updated higher capacity bearing. For the bull pinions the later one has a 25 degree pitch angle whereas the early ones were 20 degree pitch angle. The visual difference is that the tip of the 25 degree tooth is very pointed and the tooth is wider at the root. If I remember you live in Saskatchewan. I was told by several old time IH Canadian service managers that every one of the early style 560 transmissions (20 degree pitch angle gears) in Canada were updated to the 25 degree gears used in the later units. They said they went to great lengths to get every 560 sold in Canada updated. In the United States a few were not updated for a variety of reasons. I recently ran into one here in Ontario that had not been updated. It came from Ohio. I informed the owner about the great 460, 560, 660 final drive recall of 1959-1960 and the changes made to the gears and bearings.
