Constuction of Farmall 200 fenders?

I'm installing a pair of tail lights on a Farmall 200, on the fenders. I would like to use the metal rib on the wheelside to carry the wire, as it would provide protection for it. So far, I've been able to force a probe wire about halfway down the rib. Does anyone know if it is hollow all way down, or is there a spur off the cast base sticking upward into the rib? Any suggestions? Suspect these are the same clamshell fenders on the C, SuperC and others....
