Well, being a little older, I can remember seeing new IH tractors coming into the county seat(Hillsdale) on flatcars and the various dealers picking them up and taking them to their dealerships and setting them up. The Farmall H's and M's had their wheels set in the most narrow position with the tire tread backwards so they could be set in the "dished out" style without having to exchange sides with them. The wheel weights were strapped on a skid and they were a flat dull red, sort of a "red lead" color. So, to make a tractor look new I guess you should use this color on the weights and use new square head bolts, hex nuts, and lockwashers to fasten the weights to the wheels. Once when I was home on leave from the Air Force and making a "few extra bucks" working for an IH dealer, I got to help set up a new 400 with a mounted two row corn picker on it. What Fun! The buyer wanted it yesterday 'cause his old outfit had crapped out on him in the middle of his 200 acre harvest. It was a "Chinese Fire Drill" for a while.
