I always had that problem with the 6 cylinder gas IH engines also. Seems like the older 4 cylinders weren't so cold blooded. We had a 706 gas once and you had to run with the choke out until the thing got up to temperature, then it was okay. Only trouble was by the time it got up to temp in the winter time the chores were done and it was time to shut it off!!!!!!

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
