My building is 28x60 one end has 8' walls, 16'overhead door, concrete floor and insulated walls/ceiling. The 10' end has dirt floor and no insulation/heat. The work shop end has a natural gas 50,000BTU radiant heater which set at minimum keeps the shop above 50 on the coldest nights and will warm it to working range but takes quite a while. So I use a propane heater to bring the temp up in a hurry when I first arrive in the morning and boil water for tea. But the noise is awful, speaking of noise I mounted my air compressor in the unheated end of the building to save shop space and keep the noise down. Remember to drain the tank! TV and a refreshment refrigerator where the second and third thing I installed. Be conscious of fire hazards with any open flame and especially with flammable liquid or sprays. Have enough fresh air to avoid CO poisioning. Extreme changes in temperature will cause condensation = RUST on tools and bare metal parts. Enjoy your shop - buy a thrift shop overstuffed chair to set in and relax when you have a problem to solve (a beer helps too). I rescued my wife's old kitchen table (formica top easy to clean) and four roll around chairs( a lot of restoration is under the tractor) Sorry for the long length. Dick
