The flywheel off of the 282 will not fit into the 460 clutch housing. You will have to use the flywheel and the backing plate off of the 460 and the 460 clutch.I haven't tried this but I think you can use a 656 diesel flywheel and clutch as the early 656 clutch housing has the same casting number as a 460 with one bearing hole machined different. Also you will need a 460 Diesel starter or an early gear drive 656 diesel starter. I haven't tried the 656 diesel starter on a 460. We have a 460 diesel starter on our early 656 gas and it works good.
