I have the same problem with mine I have to hold the shifter in a certain place for it to back up I posted this problem and some good people said I had play in my reverse idler shaft they said you can split the tractor just 8 inches to work on it.I havent done it yet chicken I guess. they also said to take the inspection plate off the side. check the archives type in 1066 transmission you will probably see my post good luck, rich
