Do you get good flow from the line if you open the bowl valve with the line disconnected from the carb? If you haven't tried, pull the line at the carb, and let it run for a few minutes. Just long enough that you know that it isn't just running out of the line, but actually from the tank. That'll help you narrow from carb to tank/filtration... Good luck! p.s.- Though this won't be any help, Dad had one on his '51 M that just wouldn't stay running such as yours. He tried everything as suggested above, and finally borrowed the carb of my '50 M and it ran fine. His had been rebuilt twice, last by a pro which 'dipped' it. He picked up a used carb, and it still runs fine. Sometimes they just have Gremlins..
