Sounds like a similar problem I had with my 47 M. I had rust and sediment in the tank which kept coming loose and plugging the inlet in the tank. What I did was take out the sediment bulb assembly and went to a JD dealer and got a screen assembly and fixed it on the end which goes up into the tank. You have to bore out the inlet to 3/8 inch and JB weld the screen assembly in the inlet. the screen is about 2 inches long and is JD part # n AR10104. Mine runs great now! Good luck!!
