Red, thanks for the response. I was able to check the oil and it was fine. The sight bowl had no screen above it, so all I could do was just clean it out real well. The screen filter going into the carb was full of trash. After cleaning it I tried again to bush hog with the same results. (the engine died) I was able to return to where I park it by pulling the choke partway. Does this give you any other clues? Also, I opened the valve on the fuel line and gas trickled out. Should it have been really pouring out? The bowl does not empty when the engine is running. After driving it 30 miles home with no problem, this just seems strange. Thanks to all who respond.
