I am pretty sure that this was not a earlier prolonged option through the manufacturing years of the M. This diesel engine was 4 cylinder and had all the little pipes going every which way to carry diesel to the engine. It was not like the earlier tractors that ran distillate or kerosene and simple ran it through the carb. If you seen one with a v-8 diesel then I bet it was altered from possibly a MD 4 cylinder diesel. They probably took the little 4 cylinder out and souped the MD up with a V-8 diesel out of something else.
