I have been reading with interest your plight. I don't have a lot to add, except don't give up. You said plug wires were good. Did you check them with an ohmmeter? Maximum resistance is 1000 ohms per inch to a maximum of 25,000 ohms for resistance wires or near zero for solid core wires. Don't forget the coil wire. I have a real long story about that. You have gotten a lot of good advice, keep working, and as someone said when you're done you'll have a new tractor. Doc.
