Down in the woods

I have an international 444 gas tractor. While I was box bladeing the tractor just shut down. I've checked the fuel and it was OK Drained Carb. and checked fuel line. Pulled dist cap, checked rotor, pulled spark plug. check for fire. No Fire. pulled sheet metal off tractor, checked wiring, traced wire back to coil no visuable shorts. coil sounds like water in a half full fruit jar when you shake it. In the process of getting a new coil but I'm 60 miles from store. Do you think it might be something else? Fuel, fire, air No Fire? Voltage Regulator? open wire to coil? this tractor has had most all the wires cut off except for oil pressure, temp and amp gauges work. The tractor will roll over but not start. Help in the woods.
