Jack, Most tractors that are 50+ years old will have some transmission noise even with new bearings. The gears will whine, especially final drive gears, and make it sound pretty bad. These machines are very little like cars, they weren't made for comfort, so gear noise elimination was not a priority. I would first change all the fliuds in the drivetrain and see if that helps. It's not only easier, it's a lot cheaper too (and it probably needs it anyway). Phil
