Are you using a Super A turning plow that bolts to the drawbar (with the drawbar turned around)?? If so, that lift rod should have no effect on the plowing, as the lift should be down and the lift chain slack. If the plow will not stay in the ground, more likely you have an adjustment problem with the plow. You can't force a plow to go where you want it with the lift equipment.
