Murray, here's some help on adjusting the plow.
The plow is supposed to have a rod or bar that attaches to the front rockshaft on the right side of the tractor. This rod goes to the drawbar and allows you to adjust the drawbar up and down. Lots of times, these are missing from the plows. If you don't have it, don't worry, you can get by without it. To get started with this plow, you have to set the drawbar in a low position so the plow tilts forward, allowing it to "ride on the point" If you don't have the before mentioned rod, use the adjustment bolts on the drawbar to set the drawbar in the lowest possible position. If may take a couple or furrows to get started, but each should be a little deeper than the last until the plow settles out. There are also adjusting bolts on the plow hitch that have cams. These are the bolts that go through the main plow beam that bolt the spring assembly to the plow beam. By adjusting these cams, you can adjust the tilt of the plow side to side, also allowing it to ride more on the point. To adjust this, you need to put the land wheel of the tractor on blocks approximately the depth you want to plow. Then adjust the cam bolts so the plow bottom is level with the ground, or maybe tilted just a half inch or so toward the point. Also check your plow point, it may be worn to the point it will not dig in. On most of these, you can just replace the point and do not have to replace the plow share. I used one of these plows for several years and did not have the front rockshaft arm rod. I just set the drawbar at a low position and plowed away. If your ground is very hard, it may also not want to go down. I always managed, even in the East Tenn red clay. Hope this helps, Good Luck and let me know how you get along.
