Jon-I haven't used the sloshing compound, but the tank on my 400 leaked and I cleaned the outside good with sandpaper and put JB weld on it. So far it's holding fine. I can't remember though if you can get at your leak externally, but if you can this would be a lot easier. (I suppose you'd have to take the tank off to slosh the compound around in it.)
