Ran across the same problem several weeks ago after the rebuild. The gaps that formed were larger than the gasket could handle, and I ended up using a file to finally get the halves to meet. Dang, if every aluminum or pot metal part on the Cub and B had serious a serious warp. You think the carb can be bad, you should have seen the rear main seal retainer on my Cub!
