hi it's tugboat tim here I work 14 days on and 14days off when I left my eastern PA. farmet there was one inch of standing water where I'd like to plant my sweet corn this year just wont cooperate with my work schedule. I dont get off till june 11th is that to late to plant sweet corn????? ???

just base it on first frost or so. may be sometime in sept. here in CT we have not planted field corn yet for cows due to rain. in same boat as you. was out today and field was slop trying to dry it out so gave up.

yes you be allright by that date, just pick the short days on sweet corn like 65-70 something.
I enjoy planting sweet corn too my self. all you have to do is be sure it getting water and it will grow better. I plant 3 different time sweet corn, apirl, may, june.

As good of growing season as you guys got I think you'd be alright. We have 88 day average growing season here and have to really watch our planting dates. A seedhouse in Albert Lea Minnesota has a bunch of short season corn brands that you could look at. We use Sugar Buns, a 70 day corn that really does well out here at altitude.
