All depends on what you mean by worth it..... if you have a market for what you grow it can be fun , ,, meaning selling to the public ,,, if you are thinking whole sale ,,, that is a horse of a different stable ,,,, whole sale rates her 20-30 cent a pound type a quality a plus ,,, that means you are better off with a large supply and a buyer ahead of time ,,, if you are selling to the public now you can do OK ,,,, rates last year 35- 45 cent or higher per pound , thats if you want to mess with scales , and all , they best be stamped and approved , ,,, they way around some of the head ack is sell by size and state a flate rate per ... As for the work factor , you have to figure on weeding as best as you can until about the end of July , also bug control ... and any other problems , water , fertilizer needs , woodchuck damage / deer also .....plus weather Not up on the Corn deal I do know you can get a good cash flow with the right type ... but again it has it own needs ,,, I have had good years , great years , years I have just broke even , and I have had years that I have lost my shirt ....but I do this for fun and enjoy alll the hard work that comes with what I grown , Your mileage my be different ..... ..... bill G
