I am purchasing a 1959 Cockshutt 540. I have conflicting info on the engine size. It is a Continental Lhead, but is it 140 or 162 cubic inches? Also what horsepower is it putting out? Thanks for any info.

If it is original it will have a F162. I am guessing that it should have about 35pto HP. The massey harris 30 with the same F162 engine was rated at 33pto HP. The 540 engine ran at a higher RPM and around here were considered to be hard on gas compared to a 30 Massey.
