On channel 9409 on Dish Network TV, they have a Classic Tractor series showing old tractors and parades, pulls, etc. It is a great show. I was watching the other day and they wanted comments about their stations programing. Visit this site watch some of the Classic Shows and go to their site WWW.RFDTV.com and send them a e-mail with your comments. Maybe they will increase the number of shows they air.

Jerry, it appears to be Dish network programming, so it is unavailable anywhere but on Dish network. Best bet here is to either sell your DirecTV and get Dish (not my first choice, either, as I have DirecTV also) or write to DirecTV requesting a similar channel with similar programming. I don't think it will help, but from my dealings with them it appears that DirecTV does listen to consumers, and if enough of us ask, they may enter into a partnership with Dish and provide RFDTV. While you are at it, you might write to the History channel and ask why they have almost no agricultural history programming. I would think that agriculture plays a pretty major role in history, in fact, it is the main reason civilization arose.

You can find addresses for DirecTV at www.directv.com and for History channel at www.historychannel.com

Its great to see a tractor show on TV. I've had the Dish network for about two years with absolutely no problems with the equipment. RFDTV obviously needs more product. Perhaps soliciting engine and tractor show videos and getting a knowledgable host would help put RFD on the map. The History Channel is a disappointment in many ways. Ag and industrial history is pretty much ignored. They seem to find plenty of stuff for special groups but not for the groups that built and fed the country.

Are you guys happy with direct TV? I'm not! I hate direct TV! I bought 2 recievers and a Hughes dish 18 months ago and the 2nd one wouldn't work after 2 weeks and we called their "convienient", "easy" ,"customer service" number as in their phoney commercials. What a joke, your lucky to even talk to a real human voice. It's all computer voice crap. When I told them about the reciever they said the store would take care of it. They said it was a phone line jack hook up internal wiring etc. etc.. The store(Best Buy) said it wasn't their problem and wouldn't give me a refund. Called direct TV back several times and they wouldn't fix it or even refund my money. It's cheap crap made in Korea too. So here I am with a broken reciever which I didn't break that they wouldn't fix that's worthless. I also think that the History channel should have more ag. programing. Maybe for National Agriculture week in March they could have a week-long special or something.

I've had my Hughes system for 3 years and the only problem I have had is that for some reason ants built a nest in the LNB on the dish. I have been very happy with their customer service when I have called, but I haven't had to call them in over 2 years. Your problem sounds like something Hughes should own up to and correct.

As far as the equipment being cheap, you're right. I work in the aerospace electronics industry. Our current job involves building equipment that works with the same satellite signals, and I have seen the inside of the Hughes, RCA, and Sony receivers and they are like all other consumer electronics. But to have stuff built in the U.S. runs the cost out of sight, due to the hand labor involved in assembling the RF circuitry.

Thats a factory problem! It should be fixed by Hughes! You had a 30 day waranty on it!PLUS Best buy also backs them up too so either one should have given you a replacement.Been down that road with the same exact problem!Biggest problem is all of them are made by the same people.Hughes,RCA and the Direct TV brand are the same.Hughes acually sends the Dish network folks the guts for theirs. How do I know, well lets just say I have a hand in the "programming" and leave it at that.Accually DTV had a similar channel to the RFDTV but was cancelled due to its lack of veiwers.Orion Samuelson had the Channel Earth cahnnel for about 30 weeks. They had a show called Classic Tractor Fever, pretty good show but then host lacked any knowledge of travtros in my opinion.

They finally come out with a show like this and screw it up with a flakey host who don't know what he is talking about. Have you ever seen that TRUCKS show on TNN? What a joke. It gives tips on restoration and "gadjets" for rich guys. They go to the Ford dealership and buy a Brand new F-250 diesel and drill holes the the side of the bed for a generator outlet and put a electric generator under the hood. They chopped up a 50's IH pickup with all that a/c cd player, electronic junk and ruin a somewhat rare truck these days. These guys have never been on a job site. They don't even haul stuff in the bed which is a trucks purpose. Their a bunch of sissys.
