I just purchased a pair of new 16 inch rims and 6.50x16 firestones from my local TSC. The tires are marked ''tube type" but can I run them tubeless by adding fixaflat? We get a lot of flats and it would sure be easier to plug than repair a tube each time. Opinions and home remedies appreciated.

There is now a new product out. Fix-a-Flat for tubed tires. It is hard to find and costly. I wish I knew what it is called try all the tire shops. Good luck

Use the tubes. The liner in a tube type tire is not designed to hold air. Sooner or later the air will seep through the liner and cause a tread separation. This is even more likely if and when you get a puncture. I don't recall seeing any tubeless tires in a 6.50 X 16, but if you can find them you'd be better off.
