It's the saw.. I think it has something to do with pollution in the air also. A lot of my tools are getting heavier over time, must be the stuff settling over them....

Tried out my new Stihl MS361 Chainsaw on Saturday. Pretty hard starting for a brand new saw but once it's running, it's a beaut. Cuts trees like hot knife through butter. Left forearm was pretty sore on Sunday, though. It's a little heavier than my old one (or I'm just getting older).

Sank a carpet knife into my thumb, skipped the stitches and went golfing. Went to Church. Big dinner with the family afterwards. God Bless.

Michaela and I had breakfast, went to the pasture and spent a little time with some of the Lord's eating/sh!tting miracles, drove past the Church and marveled at the local hypocrits, then went to the Wasserkuppe (Kreuzberg area) which is the highest point of this region, and set up there as close as we could get to Jesus and enjoyed a couple of weiss beer that he created the ingredients for. Just so happened that there was a stand that sold Kreuzburg Bier (made by the Monks a couple miles away) so we partook in a couple also. Watched the gliders play around a while with an old guy on his Oldtimer (keep it tractor related) towing them back to the start point, then visited a local wildlife park. Still some snow on the ground in the higher spots.

Take Care,

Dave

The guys and I played (3 fiddles, pianny and gitar) at our 8:00 AM Easter Sunday mass. Big crowd as word got out that the (long winded) bishop was saying the 11:00 mass. Blew out the candles on Saturday (44).

Friday evening - drove the Oliver with semi-mounted plow thirteen miles for the plow day and hog roast Saturday( awesome!! ). Good food and great fiddle music with a couple of 40 acre fields to plow on Saturday. Sunday - drove a hundred miles to check out some equipment at an upcoming auction. Then went out to a nice brunch buffet. Visited with my younger brother who just had a heart attack last week and had a stint put in so he came up from St.Louis to relax some and he learned to plow Saturday - He also wanted to drive the rig home for me, I didn't argue:). It was a nice, sunny, weekend. ...Randy

Hauled wood Saturday and part of Sunday. Running real short for sugaring, and it isn"t quite done yet. A freind of mine was cleaning up a barn the collapsed from snow, so I got a bunch of that. It will burn good, but won"t last. Sunday, delivered one load of hay, then let the boy go to a friend"s house, reward for working all weekend without complaining. His brother has been sick this week, and didn"t do anything, I"ll catch up with him next weekend. I went home and took a nap until supper.

I spent Saturday sand blasting a 2 row corn planter that I made from an old John Deere 694A 6 row. Plus sandblasting some other items while the weather was nice.

Ran 1300 feet of woven wire fence, half done with it. It was 'over the hill' and 'down in the holler' had to pull it all by hand down over the bluff. Did that Saturday. Sunday went to church, my kid got baptised so that was special, then picked him up from his moms and went to see a movie, Coraline, then dinner with him.

Friday night went to Good Friday service at church, snacks with friends after. Saturday worked on lawn mowers and started my JD H for the first time all winter. Fresh gas and she started on the third pull. Then had supper with kids & grandkids in Chelsea, MI. Sunday sunrise service and breakfast at church. Read the Sunday paper and took a nice nap. Really needed to go to sleep after reading all the positive news in Michigan(NOT). Wife and I took a walk around our country square(3-1/2 miles) in the afternoon, had a few cocktails with my neighbors and called it a day. Altogether a great weekend.

Well, I changed the oil in my car.....Ho hum

Went to the MIL's house for dinner.....Booooring..... but dinner was yummy.

I started looking at changing the transfluid in my deere tractor....11/16" socket for the drain plug and 12MM for the strainer bolt head. This is not going to be fun....but I have done hundreds of oil changes on engines, test stands, presses, and transmissions..... just need to think it through.

Saturday, did chores. Went to a auction to watch a cattle working sweep and alley sell. On the way back I stopped at TSC for supplies. Came home and checked on the cows then went to Farm King to get the things they didnt have at TSC. Came back home, played with the dog and sat and talked with dad for awhile, got the tractor and blade and cleaned off the concrete feed floor at the Higgs farm. Did chores then called it a day. Supper with friends in the evening. Sunday, did chores then my helpers and I hauled manure and ground feed till noon. Noon was easter diner, lots of family and lots of food. About two o'clock was back to work. Took a load of feed to the cows then back to the manure spreading till about 6pm. Did chores then headed in for the night. This morning. It was 36 and pouring rain. The cows are having calves and the weather is crappy, again. I was dreading what I might find. In the south shed was a happy healthy little heifer and her momma. She came last night in the shed, nice and dry. When you get to do what you want every day, they are all pretty special. bill

You said it, Bill. I'd love to be able to quit the job and just farm. Then I'd be doing what I want everyday and LOVING every second of it. Just seems like it gets harder and harder to do though.

Well, I went to church, had to see if the heathens wanted a little help, I had to try and teach the preacher though, cause he was getting off on the wrong foot, churches like to mix heathen holidays with Chrsitian Values for some odd reason, It's been that way from the beginning.
