Ebay subject "ntsa" are knives taken from passangers. Also look at states selling the knives direct ie., KY. Look up gov.com for bulk sales. Strange way of selling only one bid allowed by uncle. TSA has to pay the bill some how? TSA is a gov job that pay better than flipping hamburgers and benfits. Many unemployed are finding this job not too bad.

My wife was at an airport one time, saw a woman digging around in one of those big potted plant containers. The woman looked up and said she forgot she had a knife in her purse so she buried it in the dirt on the way out. She found the knife and left happy.

I got back from a trip and found a .22 bullet in my briefcase. My truck is full of guns and bullets most time and somehow one ended up falling in a side pocket. It's a soft sided bag. Glad they didn't find that. Before 911 I carried on 4 sets of deer antlers for a friend that makes knives and wanted the antlers for handles. They were in my garmet bag. The x-ray guy really had a confused look on his face trying to figure those out. I had to tell him.

Last time I flew (a month after 9/11) when I got to the check in counter I dropped my keys, change, and such into my checked bag and was fine. When I got to customs at Narita they checked one pocket of my carry on, I suspect they were watching for my reaction. I was ready to open everything, I've never really had my luggage checked by customs and wanted to watch them. All they were going to find was clean clothes and toiletries anyway.

What kinda idiot tries to carry a knife on an airplane anymore? Unless you've been in a coma for the past 7 years you should know better.

You should try taking a camshaft in your carry on... seemed harmless enough. TSA thought it was some kind of billy club. Kinda like the crankshaft for my "planeside" luggage. Almost got arrested on that one...

I have a pocket knife on me all the time. It would be real easy for me to forget to leave it on the dresser if I had a flight to somewhere. Think about small money clips that have a 1" folding blade?

Thats nothing, try walking thru security at the J Edgar Hoover FBI building with a switchblade in your boots. I had a friend that was raped out in Kansas city in the late 80's, so when a bunch of us were touring DC my senior year, I was packin. Security wasn't real happy but after an explanation surprisingly they gave it back to me after the tour.

I ain't buyin' it. They've made heading to the airport such an ordeal that you tend to think of every step nowadays. You'd expect that to happen no more frequently than someone showing up without a boarding pass or ID.

I did it at the courthoue once. I have a folding utility knife and I always used to have it clipped to my pocket of inside it. I got to the metal detector and pulled it out of my pocket along with my keys, etc... and put them iun the basket. To my surprise the guard let me go through and gave me the basket back, knife and all. He must have been asleep on that one...

I just don't like to fly anymore. The actual flying isn't bad,I just don't like being treated like a common criminal before I get on the plane.

Wheeled my father-in-law through the airport line in a wheelchair once and they hand frisked him and then went over him with the hand held Xray. Jim

The security doesn't bother me, it's the waiting and the cramped seats on the plane that bothers me. I've never had a bad experience thru security, and I credit that to treating the TSA guys the way I'd like to be treated in their place. On the other hand, I've seen several people that go thru security with an attitude, and I can almost guarantee they didn't have a pleasant air travel experience that day, and they probably blamed the TSA for it.

an article about the airlines selling all the lost luggage at auction, along with the luggage thats never picked up. The article I read was where someone bought a stack of junk for little nothing and found a violin worth millions in his junk.
