I hope that somewhere in that 450 pages something says that if I have lost money on my house or 401K the federal government will step in and make it up to me like they are the rich bankers in south Manhatten.

If this don't work search the NY Times for Fannie Mae article in Sept. 1999.
Read it for yourself.

The corruption comes from our own government. The foundation of this fiasco was laid back in the mid 70s with the community reinvestment act. Banks were forced to make loans to less credit worthy people. Years later the scam artists got involved with their sub-prime loan operations. Crooks at Fanny-mae and Freddy-mac cooked their books, so they would get their big bonuses. Government failed to do anything to fix the problems. Remember all the government bragging about home ownership at all time highs? This was nothing but a big ponzi scheme doomed to fail. And now we are all stuck holding that big crap filled bag. Well, maybe not all of us, alot of those people who got themselves in over their heads with mortgages they could not afford. This bailout will allow judges to LOWER their loan pricipals and interest rates. So they can stay in their homes at our expense. We have been sold out on a massive scale. I bet this bailout scam won't be enough, they will come and pick our pockets for alot more. Jack

Government did fail to do something to stop it, however, some did try.

Frank and Dodd should be persuaded to make a sincere apology -Japanese style- for their failure to oversee the mortgage problems as their commitee leadership positions claimed authority to enforce the laws. A public seppuku/belly cutting would help public confidence in the politicians- if they don't do it voluntarily, a simple beheading at noon in front of supreme court building would be acceptable--axe, sword or guillotine. All their assets then go to bailout fund. Mortgage brokers, shaky bank loan officers, appraisers and house flipping developers would be next in line- they could retire to simple monastary after turning over their assets gained from iffy loans and live , or leave country ahead(with head) of axeman. Cheaper for taxpayers, incentive for good government and reasonable busines practice. RN

She is one of the believers in a free market. She believes that when manufactures puts a product on the market it should be taxed to the point that the manufactues work for free. That way everyone could wear the same gray uniform.
